I took it to the greenway trail today and spent time appreciating the land that I run on. This land is special and beautiful.

Please take time today to look up whose land you’re on today. The San Antonio area was once inhabited by the Payaya people, one of many who lived in south/east Texas. 💜

Steph lore: I once worked in a small natural history collection (worked and collected under permits and employed by an accredited collection!) and some of my best study skin preps were a barn owl and an eastern spotted skunk I found dead on the highway Imfao

I went through my craft grade skulks and bones and figured I could put together little bone baggies if anyone in the USA (only!) wanted them for $25 each + shipping lol

My LAST big long run of my training block! 22 miles!! I got it done this morning, and I did it at race pace! 😁✊🏻

I’m so ridiculously proud of myself. This has been the hardest 14 weeks of my life! 😭 But I’m HERE! Now it’s time to enter my taper. The Inaugural SATX Marathon is THREE weeks away! 😎

Finished up sowing a good number of seeds I’ve collected off spent heads and seed pods while on runs! I planted some native seed mixes from Native American Seed back in early spring that yielded lots of blooms. The firewheels blessed me with MANY seeds! I got them all scattered and sowed. 😁✊🏻

This week was a pullback! Finished off week 13 with a solid BUT SUPER WINDY 16-miler. 😁✊🏻

NEXT SUNDAY IS MY LAST LONG RUN OF MY TRAINING BLOCK AHHH (22-mi!) Then finally my sweet sweet taper! 😭 I’m so TIRED lol

Worst photos ever because I took them through my home office window while at my desk…but! The yellow-rumped warblers (“butter butts” 😁) have returned to my neck of the woods! Their arrival marks fall time-for-real for me, even if we only have cooler weather in the mornings right now lol

Got my 21-miler done this morning! 😁✊🏻

With the temperature in the 40s-50s F in the mornings, my pace has seen an incredible improvement over my summer paces. Today was an incredible effort!

Week 12 complete! I have TWO more weeks with my 22-miler on Nov 16th! Then finally! My glorious taper! 🙌🏻

I spent the afternoon at the kitchen table shelling out/organizing seeds from the native wildflower spent heads and seed pods/legumes I harvested while on my runs in the spring and summer! I was able to get through 3 paper sacks. I still have a few more sacks to go, then I’ll sow them very soon! 🌿🌱

We got the kitties a 5.5-ft cat tower yesterday.

Today is flea treatment day aka Fitz has to wear a baby shirt or he tears himself up trying to lick off the medication.

I came home from lunch with a friend to this.

It has a lower bowl-like tier, then a cylinder-like hide with two exits on either end then a window hole in the middle, then a very high bowl-like tier.
