first game that comes to mind is Tower of Heaven. the soundtrack is basically just variations on a single theme, but i'll be damned if that theme isn't extremely good

it was localized and released stateside, so english ROMs should be pretty straightforward to locate. i’ve always wanted a physical copy but no way am i paying 75-120 USD for a copy in 2025 lol

Aerobiz Supersonic! it’s a weird, Japanese business sim game for SNES where you run an airline. shockingly deep for its time. also contains lots of goofy anachronisms, if you choose to play during one of the more modern eras of flight.
