For me, it's the combination of references - it's a word I associate with Charles Manson, with certain grimier corners of kink, with Lord of the Flies. It's a word meant to shame, yes, but also *scare*, and given where Trump is right now w/the Files, he shouldn't feel bold enough to scare anyone.
