A little surprised that McMahon's homer woulda left 11/30 stadiums. Woulda guessed significantly fewer or less or whatever it's supposed to be.

The reason the infield fly rule exists is so that you can eliminate a cheat double play. It's not a protection for the defense.

An infield fly is called by the umpire.

- fair
- fly ball
- can be caught with ordinary effort by an infielder
- 1st and 2nd occupied
- >2 outs

Umpire may have deemed infielder position or the sun meant more than ordinary effort, leaving the opportunity for the catch and double play intact.

I can be mad at Dan for keeping Speier in against Greene, but now that doesn't seem like such a big deal.

I have no issue with going to Speier. He sucked. He's been phenomenal this year. Leaving Speier in for another inning was a mistake but I'm not using either in that situation. bsky.app/profile/bob2...

Assuming you can't score four runs and somehow keep Detroit from scoring, the question now becomes whether you start Kirby or Castillo.
