25 or so years ago, when I was young, my mother had a wise insight. She told us that she had looked over the conversations in MSN messenger on the family computer and that we were meaner with our friends over text than we were in person.

We were banned from messenger for a long time. She was right.

You’ve recently started a new history podcast. Since there are only so many hours in a day, do you have any plans to wrap up any of your current projects, or tides of history specifically, to make room for your new project?

I vividly remember seeing myself in the underground man. And not liking what I saw.

It felt like a warning of where I’d end up if I kept listening to my worst impulses and wallowing in misery.

The book is not an invitation to give up. It shows where that nihilistic path ends.

That’s a bit of a joke but it’s shocking how much mileage she’s gotten out of the laminator. she even offered to laminate a few posters for the other local recall petition.

I’m a refrigerator shaped man with the most traditional looking family you can imagine. White picket fence, 2 kids, etc.

If being manly means anything it is to use your strength to lift others. Worrying that defending trans people makes you look weak is the least manly thing I can imagine.

I like the idea of an electric vehicle but we take road trips through the Canadian Rockies every year. Full electric limits our options too much, but plug in range extended? Best of both worlds.

LinkedIn Guys are strange creatures but honestly it would be a great add. Made me think about buying pears for the first time in years.
