We convinced rocks how to think and it's been going downhill ever since.
It's mostly a cleaned up, modern version of Java, it even runs on the JVM, so you can switch to it pretty easily even in existing Java projects. It's much nicer.

Eh it's not my first choice either, I've taken a liking more to Kotlin recently.
