I’m very glad I love Midnight Mass by @bpal.bsky.social because I just poured it all over my dress and tallboy. The 2024 iteration of this magnificent resinous and cathedraly scent is still available in the Yule collection of BPAL’s website.

An oldie! @bpal.bsky.social’s And There Was A Great Cry in Egypt from their discontinued Salon collection. I wanted to wear something resinous (always) with hints of conifers (a very specific need), and this delivers quite nicely 🖤

I finished Absolution by @jeffvandermeer.bsky.social last night (after a reread of the first three books) and I’ll never get over the fact that it made Lowry into a sympathetic character. How dare you Jeff. (I loved the book and now want an alligator companion to travel through time and space).

When plugging in my phone last night, I discovered a piece of paper I had never seen before partially stuck underneath the moulding, and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had put a curse on the house I’ve lived in for over 10 years because this is the kind of January I’m having #mystery

Midnight Mass, by @bpal.bsky.social is a winter classic: rich enveloping incense and resins. My bottle is from 2017, but the perfume oil is available in BPAL’s current Yule collection.

The Big Smoke by 4160 Tuesdays 🤍 I had the chance of visiting Sarah McCartney’s atelier last September, and I chatted perfumes, inspiration and bears with her for over an hour. The scent is dry, sweet, enveloping, but what’s particularly striking about it is what is “missing“: vanilla. Lovely~
