How to avoid the mistakes and assumptions I did, in order to have your best first time at Le Mans.

Got a ton of stories from Stu and the hill climbs in our time at Le Mans and it's one of the things that makes me the happiest from social media.

Getting to know such great people doing things I could only dream of.

So enriching for the soul and it makes me smile just to reminisce about it.

Anyway, fuck LLMs, fuck slop, fuck techbros.

Let people enjoy what they do. The effort is worth it.

If you'd like to read more about my thoughts on AI and Art, and why "AI images" should not be called "AI art", I have some words in the link below too.

Thank you for your attention to this matter 😂
💡🖋️ Are we the old people yelling at an AI cloud? (Spoiler: no, we are not)
The future of art with AI may look grim, but it does not have to. Here's what you can do about it.

Don't remember it! Maybe in Oct 2nd or Sept 28 when I had the R5 Turbo?

Actually no, because I was told that one of those was the Maserati SUV
creatinglightly.art
I was definitely too early, friends. They changed it now!

Today is World Mental Health day.

I'm lucky and thankful to generally have good mental health. I work actively towards it.

But know that's not true for everybody.

If that's your case and you'd like to chat, message me.

I've been told I'm decent listening and replying to make people feel better.

I tell artists often to "keep inspiring" or that they "inspired me" with their art.

This is exactly what I mean.

I remember having told this to people like @alfie.photography @mrjalco.bsky.social @liamwong.com @paulscottcanavan.com @ziqqix.bsky.social @maddybellwoar.com @willpierce.bsky.social ❤️

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑
Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

I am an artist in my free time because I enjoy it, and I am a software engineer in my 9-5.

And let me be clear: In both areas I want 0% of AI making my experience worse.

There's this belief that AI/LLMs can write code in a way it is usable for normal people, and I don't think it's true.

Why? 🧵

while I acknowledge that LLMs do have some uses for stuff like “producing code with knowledgeable human supervision,” this perfectly reflects how I feel about using it for my own creative work

I was just about to tag you to see if it was the same.

Don't know the dude, though 😂

Looks sick! Would've loved to see someone riding it in the article though!

It's the idea! Clarified in the alt text but not the post itself haha

I'm glad you said that because it means it's decent looking even for someone who's practicing/learning like myself :D

I stole the idea from a video I saw for practicing/warming up, where they created characters instead, but I thought "what the hell, let's give it a go".

Had a ton of fun and will surely do it again :D
creatinglightly.art
Would.

If I didn't live in the opposite shore 😅

At least they let me use my Shrek meme a lot 😂

Maybe they like painting, composition, telling a visual story (and drawing is just a means to that end, but could be collage, photobashing, anything really).

I've done art for 6+ years and mostly tracing. I don't draw well. I'm working on it.

But I like and got decent at composition and painting 😅

I've seen bad mental health first hand, and it looks and feels (on both sufferer and helper's side) very hopeless.

But there is help. You CAN get help. You CAN get better. I've seen it.

You just have to ask.

If friends can't help, a professional surely can.

Try to get better. You deserve it ❤️‍🩹

Then probably join later to get your real guess from today! 😂

I'm waiting for it to update or whatever 😝

Did you get something different than this, Michael?

I guess I'm too early again?

At this point I think it's a me problem.
Cardle with R5 Turbo again

And btw, this is brilliant and what I initially intended to share, in agreement.

David Simon here is a whole mood.

Happy Friday!

SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.
