Someone pointed out that the cloud features look like the face of a wretched man, looking down to the left into the canyon. Such a notion has interesting implications that I can discuss later. Suffice to say that something unusual happened the day I took this photo and now I may know why. 😱

Thanks for your comment.
I haven’t checked recently, but the last time I knew the tribe stopped allowing tripods in both antelope canyons in 2018. I go to other canyons not generally open to the public and under those special circumstances I can do whatever I want as long as I act responsibly.

That piece of derelict driftwood was left there when flood waters receded. Sometimes there’s a chunk of wood left that is large enough to partially or totally block a canyon passage.

Yes, nature is the best.

The extreme dynamic range and contrast within the slot canyons makes capturing great photos especially difficult. Multiple shots are required to subsequently post-process via exposure stacking. A tripod is necessary to avoid high ISO, which creates extreme noise seen as graininess.

I am fortunate to have access to several areas not publicly accessible. Over a decade, I've developed trust with Hopi, Zuni, and Navajo peoples. My anthropological studies have helped me understand and appreciate Native American culture and history, especially their ancestral religious beliefs.

Sorry for the annoying alarm sound. Our coffee was being warmed and yet I didn’t want to interrupt giving Siber attention.

We try our best to adopt her language nuances. All told, it’s the love that we best communicate. 😻
