Rug Hooker, Pickle Maker, Law Professor and proud Canadian. 🇨🇦 Once upon a time I dyed my Granny's bloomers robin's egg blue and hooked a sky with them. I prefer the company of Golden Retrievers but must work to buy dog food. Opinions are my own.
Here is my beautiful dog Mavis being cuddled by her favourite human. Mavis is 9. We love her very much.

Remember Penny Mordaunt at the coronation? She wins the Oscar for parliamentary performance art. Our Usher of the Black Rod would be Third Runnerup.

OK I have to play. Flossie is also perfect. Even when sitting in the chair she is not allowed to sit in.

On a different note, & by way of proving I can do more than crow about the sorry state of democracy, here is a caribou rug I hooked several years ago. It won first prize at the Bobcaygeon fall fair. The caribou is hooked using pantyhose in the Grenfell tradition. #rughooking #fibreart

My word of the year mat for 2025 is finished and up on the wall. The only English words I could find were rather strident, so I looked to another language. “Eg fyrst” is Icelandic for “me first”. If you speak Icelandic and I have misspelled “me first”, keep it to yourself.

Robin's Egg Blues. This is a little rug that I hooked for a show at @brandteisner.bsky.social 's Swoon Gallery back in 2014, Hooked on Swoon. A little bit of cheer on an otherwise surreal day in this world. #BlueSkyArtShow #Spring
