Hey hi hello! My name is Chelcie and I am the artist behind Crescent Rose Pottery. I like to create functional pieces of art that are whimsical and witchy, and I *love* that they can be incorporated into people's daily lives. I'm happy to be joining Bluesky! 🌛❤️🌜
Listened to the new music from Hayley Williams and "True Believer" is so good 🤘

My favourite part about going to WV (aside from the lush greenery and mountains) is the Tudor's Biscuit World pit stop on the way home 🤤

It's never too early for me to work on ornaments. I love making these skulls buddies all year round 💀🤘❤️‍🔥

I accidentally left the lid cracked until my kiln was at 2100°F and the top layer of my kiln underfired. I might have to refire all the pieces that were in there 🥲😫 I now have to wait until my kiln cools down enough so I can check the rest of the pieces 🫣

I've been struggling to feel very social on social media, but I am still working on things in my studio 🥲❤️

Back from a little weekend getaway, and it went by way too fast 🥲

(Not so) Fun Fact: I'm still finding glittery splatters around my studio. I didn't realize just how far it got 🥲
Of all the glazes that I could have accidentally knocked over, it just had to be my open pint of Cosmic Tea Dust. (My floor now has a light coating of glitter even after wiping it multiple times with clean water) 😫

I was so caught up on updating my site that I forgot to update y'all here! There are still quite a few pieces available (like the candlestick holder, red splatter heart mug, and spoonrests). The bud vase already sold, but I love it too much not to include it here 🥹❤️

Oh man, I am catching up on so much stuff today 😅 Updating my spreadsheets for tax stuff, unpacking my pottery from the weekend, replying to messages, attending to social media stuff, etc. Getting it done! 💪💀

Two weekends of shows are complete! It was a lot of fun to travel and share my pottery 🥰 Next up is an online update on May 17th 👀❤️

My favourite game for the past week is finding things that had been lost for months 🙃

✹ Anger ✹ Outburst ✹

"Something broke inside of you and let out this rage, you buried for so long. Let it be for a while, let these emotions out. It won't do you any good to hide what's angering you."

Ahhh this was a perfect kiln firing 🥰

It's crazy seeing how much everything shrunk!

I can't wait to see them fired. 🥲
April 19, 2025 at 9:56 PM
Ahhh I have to wait until Monday to unload my kiln and I just wanna see the goodies (I'm not at my studio until then and I'm impatient 🥲)

Kiln is on for my 3rd glaze firing of the month *and* I'm trying a new bread recipe! So many exciting things 🥰

Saw my favourite friendly neighborhood cat today after not seeing him for a couple years. During lockdown, I went on more walks than I do now and often stopped to give him pets. He made 2020/2021 much more bearable 🥲

I always try my best to use as much of my clay slab as I can, so while I didn't have enough room for another OH ornament, I *did* have enough clay for a skull 💀

Turning off comments. All I'm asking is that artists don't suffer a disproportionate amount compared to others employed at private corporations with benefits and health insurance and a 401K. Especially when our work can be an avenue of resistance.
I will just say if you are in the US, treat yourself to some work by your favorite US artist. Many of us sell primarily online so international boycotts (justified as they are) are having an impact.
Almost everyone I know in the arts bar the luckiest of the lucky few - the most talented people I know, the funniest and most industrious people I know - almost universally people are saying they don’t think they can afford to do this job anymore.
