unfortunately, it looks like people are going to have to learn the hard way that the stock market only ever benefits the richest 1%. maybe if the AI bubble bursts fast enough they can invest the people's money after the stock market falls off a cliff and get some good deals. 😟

our stock market (hell, the whole economy) is currently being propped up by the AI bubble, and that bubble is looking reeeal thin these days. now is NOT the time to be gambling with citizens' money. vote NO on Resolution 8201

reporting in from eastern WA, there are at least a few of us who are hardcore progressives, and i swear to god if we could ban right wing media in United Cascadia a lot of those Reds could be talked into being socialists. all my red neighbors are on medicare/SNAP/etc and they don't want to lose it.

so killing sea lions might "save" 100k salmon, meanwhile the hydro dams prevented at least 7 million salmon from returning to spawn. sounds like sea lions are being scapegoated for a man-made problem and killing them isn't going to do anything to actually fix the salmon decline. cool. 💀

Good article with a passive headline. People who want to shoot bears got the dept. director to convince ferguson to investigate the pro-conservation members of the commission while conveniently NOT investigating the commissioners who seemingly want to dismantle the rules protecting our environment.

plus we all know ICE is dishonest as hell. this could be a repeat drunk driver, or it could be someone pulled over for a traffic infraction and the cop found weed on them, and all these charges are knock-on effects of that (driving high counts as a DUI in Louisiana). ACAB. (and abolish ICE)

Plus only ~50% of americans have valid passports, and getting one is a big hassle, a long wait, and at least $165. Only a handful of state IDs show citizenship status (and all cost $), so they're really suggesting people carry their SS card and birth certificate everywhere. Which is insane.

I didn't expect to miss Jay Inslee, but here we are. At least he wasn't entirely spineless. ferguson needs to rise to the occasion, and he needs to do it quickly, or he's going to have a rough time in the primaries.

Columbia University bent the knee to trump and handed over students and faculty and he STILL shafted them on funding. Washington should take that as a lesson and fight like hell for its students and its laws. 🌲

true or not, i fully expected them to blame the tariffs anyway. corps just love to pass the buck when people get mad at them. (also shoutout to bowser's "just buy the old one" line, big "don't you guys have phones" energy. maybe worse since the 1st switch is still the same fucking price as launch)

if i may be pedantic for a moment: that's not Deportation. if you're an american citizen being kicked out and not allowed back in, that's Exile. they want to Exile people and leave them stateless, which is in many ways worse.

even if we could reverse thanos-snap our fingers and conjure the entire manufacturing chain here on US soil, it WOULD STILL COST MORE because americans won't work for pennies a day. plus we would devastate our environment; hope these right wing dipshits like breathing smog and drinking mercury.

It's a shame the bill didn't get a hearing, but thank you for reporting on things like this. With all the chaos going on at the federal level it's easy to lose sight of local issues.

I wish our state politicians had the spine to respond to this kind of bullying by threatening to withhold state funds from the feds. Washington and its residents pay-in more than we get from the federal government.

Amtrak should never have been relied on in the first place. Rail service should be nationalized, since corporations have consistently proven they can't be trusted with it.
