Recently learned GMH was Queer, & it's left me wondering if that's why this poem has resonated with me since HS. His celebration of what is marked as ugly & Other is deeply queer; perhaps, in this day & age, he too would replace "spare" with "queer," & celebrate a God who loves queer multiplicity

I love that our hangouts are 1/3 food, 1/3 art or folklore, and 1/3 spirituality~
