I actually like the texture you made. Even though the metal parts are much brighter then on a regular Tompson, the general body shape and design is closer to how they actually looked.
All in all, it's really good texture.

Yeah, banners, flags and such can be rather hard to look good when making a more complicated design. Studying and practicing patterns and banner designs will certainly help.
