When we think of the use of Al in the classroom we're often afraid that Al will remove the voice of the teacher, or that the teacher will be replaced. believe that the success of Al in the classroom will be in it amplifying the teacher's voice. What does this mean? It means that we take what the teacher has said and then use this to produce materials in the teachers own 'words, using language that supports that that's been used in the classroom, so students aren't seeing yet another way to do something, or having to learn another set of vocabulary. It means being efficient with a teachers time so they have more time to spend on developing new curriculum content, reimagining tasks, or even taking part in their own professional development. Al shouldn't be here to replace the teacher, it should be here to empower them, to help them support learning in the classroom, for learners at all levels. Change the reading level of the same document, add more scaffolding or remove it. These are all things which will empower the teacher to enhance learning. By controlling the content, and our own biases we can also try to right the wrong when it comes to Al bias as well, but this is always something that we need to watch out for!

I've been playing more with #NotebookLM and today I used @zipcaptions.app to create a transcript of my #math lesson on the Cosine Law. At the end I asked it to create me a podcast (youtu.be/bZMen_2yy6E) as well as an FAQ document which I added some formatting to. Thoughts on this use of #AI in #Edu?

Sooooo... I'm embroiled in an argument with Montreal Airport, where they say that after 40 minutes you have to pay $24, as the free 40 minutes don't count if you exceed them... Is that what this says?

Yesterday Google launched a feature which they claim uses AI to bring captions to life. It will put emphasis onto certain words to highlight the tone or action that's happening in a conversation or video. What do you think about this? Could this be distracting? #accessibility

Did you know that you can float a window in #ChromeOS? This means that you can have a window in the foreground, and interact with one in the background without losing the foreground one... Ideal for timers, captions, notes and more! #GoogleEdu
Float a window You can now multitask more effectively when you float a window. When you float a window, you keep that window open and can freely move it around. On the window that you want to float, hover over Maximize . In the menu that pops up, select Float . Reposition and resize the window as applicable. Tip: A floated window stays in the background when you open or select other windows or apps. You need to move the floating window around to get a full view of windows or apps in the background. Close a floating window To return a floating window to its previous position and size: On the window that you want to close, hover over Unfloat . In the menu that pops up, select Float . Tip: When you close a floating window, it doesn’t automatically maximize the window. Instead, it returns to its size and position before it was floated.
