All it does is to dry it...once you spread it on the ground or a compost heap, it will again give CO2...and if the heap is not well aerated, it will give methane as well...There are real rapid composting technologies that really make compost...sad that they have to fight with this...

It seems faster cause in the begining the biodigester was fueld with waste and produced nothing for about 90 days. After that you feed every day, but the production comes from earlier feedings.3/3

For biogas, you need more than 1 hour to process the waste. The dry matter percent in the bio digestor is 8 to 25(in best cases) and it takes around 50 days at least for the waste that you introduce to actually produce biogas with the help of anaerobic bacteria. /2

The Biodigestor (for biogas or the methane you're talking about) is one thing - it produces biogas and biogigestate(NOT COMPOST) which is still a waste, and this is indeed an anaerobic process. Composting is a different process, an aerobic one(can be 90 days or even 24 hours) and you get compost)./1
