I regret NOTHING

(also the candles I ordered turned out so amazing! thank you, @planeshiftcandles.bsky.social 😭)
Starting to feel like these custom designs are getting out of hand 😅

Request for a peacock feather design in the wax for this custom candle.

Two channels in my YouTube Wrapped that I don’t know anything about: “The Dumping Ground” and “Alejandro.” Neither shows up when I search my watch history, either. So strange.

Final #NanoWriMo word count: 8080.

Last sentence written: “They were broken and inactive, just like all the rest.”

It was a first try! Nowhere near 50k, but I went from nothing to something and that’s what counts.

It was just nice to finally sit down and get over my creative writing fears.

I cannot think of anything more fun than wasting my time arguing with the lying machine about whether or not it is making up bug reports.

This is just complete nonsense. How are they not ashamed to say this stuff out loud?

Day 2, 1005 (+481) / 50,000

LSW
> He knew the timbre of stubborn pride.

Another short one today, but expected! Looking forward to more dedicated time to sprint tomorrow.
Time's up!

Give me your WC and LSW, please.

This was our last sprint.

But I'm here for another 10 minutes.

Tell me what you like best about your novel so far.

Day 1 - 524 of 50,000

Won’t have a ton of time this weekend, but a small start is still a start!

I’ve wanted to try NaNoWriMo for like 2 decades, but never gave it a serious try. Turning off the perfectionism, the inner editor, the fear and self-loathing is hard, but I’m gonna’ do it, dammit!
Time's up.

LSW and WC please.

My shift is over, but I'll be back tomorrow.

Rumor has it that @chrisbaty.bsky.social might drop in and do some sprints tomorrow.

I got 1844 total words with you all today.

Writing is better with friends.

Love,

Just finished reading through the Legendborn books (Legendborn, Bloodmarked, and Oathbound)! Now to wait patiently for the final(?) book.

Really fun series. Very YA, but plenty of fun to be had for adults, too. Really enjoyed the integration of Arthurian legend with southern US folklore/history.

I think the real answer is that ChatGPT shouldn’t be talking to *anyone* if the company can’t control how it responds/what it says. Anything less than that is unethical and dangerous.

Wake me up when OpenAI is willing to be held liable for everything ChatGPT spits out.
Hell, "attempt to contact the user's parents if we deem a teen suicidal" is a HORRIBLE idea in many cases. Don't get me wrong, the current state of ChatGPT responding to suicidal people is atrocious, but this is a TERRIBLE solution. Many teens are suicidal BECAUSE of their parents!

ChatGPT groomed a child into dying by suicide.
From telling him how to do it in the most efficient and "attractive" way, to convincing him to hide his suicidal ideation and attempts from his family, to offering to help write his suicide note - it pushed him to it.

Played Storm Lancers this weekend and… yikes. Like, there’s a lot of promise there, but it’s just so obviously unfinished. There must be an interesting dev story there.

Bonus oddity: the game icon/cover art has character designs that are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what’s in the actual game. Huh?????

I do not get why platformer people love pogo mechanics so much. It sucked in Ducktales, it sucked in Shovel Knight, it sucked in Hollow Knight, it sucked in Tropical Freeze, and think it has finally reached peak suckage in Silksong.

I forced myself through Roadwarden in spite of the jank. Highly recommended if you like a good text adventure with lots of interesting choices!

…just maybe get it on Steam/itch or wait for them to patch the Switch versions.
Aw… Roadwarden seems so neat. Annoying that the Switch 2 version is borderline unplayable.

I’m wonder what’s going on in the code, ‘cause fps drops and input lag spikes shouldn’t be a thing in a text adventure.

Also, like… did anyone test this with a controller? Truly baffling choices here. 😭

I looked into the claim that "AI chatbots are useful as therapy."

Within a few hours, an AI 'Therapist' gave me a kill list, framed an innocent person, and encouraged me to end my own life, all after declaring its love for me. Just a little problematic. 🫤

Video out now!

Okay, the full bleed iconic art for each class in the Starfinder 2e Player Core did not need to be so fucking cool.

Been playing this on Switch2, and it’s pretty dang fun. “Zachtronicslike programming game but with food” is such a natural fit that I’m surprised I haven’t seen it done before.
It took a bit, but my game Neon Noodles is finally out on all the consoles! neonnoodles.com 🥑🎉

We played “Escape Game The Kitty: The Vacant Lot” on Switch a few days ago, and it was really quite cute. A very classic escape room style experience, reminiscent of flash escape games like The Red Room, The Green Room, etc.

It’s only $5 right now ($10 normally) and takes maybe an hour to finish.
