And intrinsic motivation often stems from being able to work independently on something that excites you. I think everyone can relate to that. It also generates a completely different kind of productivity, regardless of the actual topic.

I mean there's a huge difference between intrinsic motivation to do sth or being forced to do so. And this is thing about work culture. And I also believe that it makes a big difference to people whether they work overtime on a situational basis or continuously for several weeks/months.
