In Imperial County, ICE detainee Huabing Xie, died after suffering seizure while in custody at Calexico detention center. (Less than month after arrest) Despite attempts at resuscitation, he was pronounced dead at El Centro Regional Medical Center.

These alarming numbers reflect early signs of a massive structural shift. The aging of the U.S.-born labor force, combined with shrinking immigration pathways, risks long-term erosion of labor capacity in sectors that rely on immigrant skill, stamina, and resilience.
