My husband’s grandmother would call them “shmidlings” and sometimes she would put jam on them before rolling them up. They were the best part of her pie making in my estimation. Don’t get me wrong, she made amazing pies! My daughter loved her great-grandma!!

As a spouse of a retired military veteran and the daughter of a retired military veteran, I would like to point out the greatest sacrifices come the families these military members possess. Moving every two to four years, uprooting the family, establishing new contacts, we are the unsung heroes.

I believe this is true, yet my father, who is 86, and the people at the senior center he attends receive continuing training on their new phones. More senior centers should be doing this type of training.
