My aunt and uncle lived next to Drax. They used to hear sirens whenever there was an accident. And they heard them a lot.
On the Sizewell site, there was is a LED board. They had power generated total, current output, a few other things- and time since last serious accident.

if you think that being a HCW means that doctors won't take the piss, i very clearly said to a doctor that i'd stopped taking a medication because of the side effects and she charted that i was getting on very well with it and therefore i'd agreed to increase the dose

I think about these a lot, how they were designed to try to stop people from entering the tracks on the subway, and then I think about a guy I spoke to who did, who said he stopped being suicidal the moment the train hit him and I wonder what an effective british campaign would actually look like

there's not that much in terms of photos of the (now gone) control room in sizewell A, but here's the control panels at the far right side of the front right desk. i've looked for details of the control layouts of magnox reactors because they're dying out but I feel like I'll be put on a watchlist
