The reason for two copies is the person who performed the scan and the person who color corrected were not the same people.
The scan destroys the original copy.

The other aspect to this is cost. Two copies of kanzenban were needed to produce this. And one of those copies had to be sacrificed for the scan.
Total both copies would've been valued around 600 dollars on the open market.
Soshuhen would've cost a couple thousand each to be complete

Just find the page you want it to show up in and order the pages as (for example) 117A-117M or something along those lines

I too feel the same way but we needed to maintain as much authenticity as possible.
If you use 7zip, right click the cbz and open archive. From there you can extract the story. If you wanted to put it into a good spot, you can take those dozen pages and reinsert them in volume 23 easily
