Plus, everything needs to be adapted to a particular person's body and abilities.

This is my beef with strict interpretations from sources. If you follow everything to the letter and by the image, then you have an action that works in exactly one circumstance. But if you learn the goal of a play, it can be applied in various ways in different distances and times.

Good luck!

You could try reducing or eliminating intermediate snacks to increase mealtime appetite. (Feel free to ignore, parenting is hard and all kids are different)

I don't really care what I look like, I just have to be able to sword fight 20 year olds and not totally embarass myself. I am pleasingly uruk-hai shaped nowadays, though.

Sometimes the light from the bathroom window hits just right and I'm like, oh hey there's those muscles I've been working on for years.

I fought with swords.

When attacking, the squeeze should be at its strongest at contact with your opponent or their sword. This also lets you very easily control the force of your strikes while still being fast. Arm speed is not tied to hit force, as that is generated by the squeeze, and so it is easy to moderate.

Loose hand in guard, squeeze during contact when parrying to stabilize, but as soon as there is not active resistance from the opponent's attack, relax the hand.

For cutting, extending the arm and then squeezing produces a much more efficient and fast cut than trying to "push" the sword the whole way with your muscles. It ends up feeling much more like a throw and catch motion than constant force through the whole stroke.

I really like the fabris lean during an attack, but I can't hold that position and maneuver to my satisfaction.

Yeah, they really suck. I might have to make some produce bags.

This wasn't until the evening, but I can see how that would happen.

I'm starting sculpting at 38 after dropping out of art school and thinking I wasn't good enough for 10 years. I hope you can find the inspiration to keep going, because your work is great.
