My general view on the Oscars is that it's the consensus of a truly massive intersection of the film making industry so it's probably not going to pick my favorite movie every time. It is a fun show where we get to celebrate a bunch of people I like and a couple I don't. Overall positive

Might be pretentious of me to say, but I do need you to go see a movie in theatres at least 3 times a year for me to care even a little bit about your opinions on the medium. All I'm asking is a $30-60+5-8 hours per year commitment and we're cool. It's not that big of an ask
