With airalo and other esim services it's relatively cheap and easy to just get a prepaid eSIM and top it up as needed. When I was in England in 2023 I think I spend $20-30 for ~30gb of data. Combined with the "free" 256kbps international data from T-Mobile it was more than enough.

For the tube and buses in London you can use a tap-to-pay card (or even your phone/smartwatch) when you enter and exit. You're charged at the end of the day for all the combined rides and I think the max per day was like £20 as of 2023.

Check to see if there are any planned strikes on the trains or other public transit. They're announced an advance and may require adjusting your travel plan between London and Paris.
