This made me rewatch the capital riot video. Someone needs to explain why police stood by and watched them breaking windows and did nothing. Then when Ashli Babbit got shot they then initially engaged other capital law enforcement and then stopped once realizing it. Capital police helped rioters!

These people show up to protest at state capitols with guns. They dump thousands of dollars into their custom ARs and weapons. Yet now they have told you someone showing up to protest with a gun and an expensive one, is looking to do grievous harm and inflict mass casualties on law enforcement.

These behaviors did not emerge all at once. Early support or indifference often preceded more extreme actions as laws, propaganda, and social pressure escalated. Ordinary people responded in profoundly different ways when moral conviction collided with fear, conformity, and perceived self-interest.

The real question is not of disagreement and opinion. It is of character. If things escalated, would they recognize harm and help, protect themselves and stay silent, or actively turn on others? History shows those choices matter.
