"A Night in the Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny has been a delightful read (or listen in this case). Our POV character is a dog named Snuff, and the plot incorporates classic horror characters from literature and film. If I had to name a genre, I'd tentatively call it urban fantasy.

Man, how many cool books am I going to read that have @dianapho.bsky.social in the acknowledgments? The world may never know. 😊 Seriously, that was a fun surprise. I love seeing people I know in books. Also if anyone asks why I didn't have children, I'm gonna point to this book. It's visceral. 😱
