🌈 MM author of books full of mystery, romance, and snarky brats.
Lover of books, coffee, whiskey, and music. Not necessarily in that order.
I don't think you can. :/ You have to delete it and post a new one. I had this issue myself recently. #AgingMillennialsUnite lol

I used to print out my first draft and make notes on paper. I really want to get back to this practice in 2026. I can't write by hand anymore because of health issues, but seeing it on paper always really helped me catch stuff I think I overlook staring at a screen. I think you do that?

I really need to try the reverse outline thing. It would probably be really helpful, especially for mysteries, because I always struggle with those.

This was really awesome. Thanks for sharing. I do the tackling one thing with each read through (story stuff and descriptions, line edits, proofreading, etc.). I was telling Dustin this the other day. I broke down each step and each "draft" to him, and he was just like, "..." LOL

I need to look into this more because sometimes, despite having an outline, I find I just sit and stare at my document like, "...what now?" which stresses me out, which means I'm not enjoying myself, and then I get irritated and give up lol.

I just picture a small piece of you dying every time I call it a blurb. 🤣 Love youuuu. 🩷

It's always the funniest and most painful part of early revisions when I do a search and highlight all the instances of a certain word. 🤣 My editor also tends to say throughout edits, "you might want to add this to your list" when she finds a new word I'm overusing LOL.

I have a whole list of words like this I search for during my revisions (including stuff I know I overuse hardcore). I don't always succeed in fixing them all, though lol. Work in progress!

God, I feel this in my soul lol.

I think I own the Emotional Craft of Fiction. It was intriguing because I'm, obviously, a psychology nerd and it felt like it would delve into that aspect of writing. But I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. Shocker. 🤣
