@SnoopJ hm, interesting! Something I've been thinking about for Somerville is if we could change 2-3 parking spots in a row into pickup/dropoff every couple of blocks, so that there's more availability to pull to the curb instead of people obstructing the bike lane. It feels like the Boston area […]

@SnoopJ I for sure hear you on the buses, and the need to do something better. I haven't made it to Seaport since the pandemic began, actually, and when I was there I was mostly in the conference center and restaurants. When you say the neighborhood is exploding, what are you seeing? Like […]

@SnoopJ Ah, I'm looking at this project also in terms of what info they learned in the proposal (as an urban planning grad student), and thinking about elsewhere.

Bolivia has a whole air tram system (several colors of routes) that my prof swears actually is transformative mass transit […]

@SnoopJ Hm, looks like the red line trains have capacity of 15k riders per hour (per https://cambridgeredevelopment.squarespace.com/s/2015-06-18a-Introduction-to-Red-Line-Capacity.pdf ), and 30-person cabs in air trams can do 5k riders per hour. Not as much as a subway, obviously, but it's also […]

Today I learned that South Boston has or had a proposal for air trams/gondolas that has been kicking around since 2017-2018.

Anyone else wanna know if that could still happen? I do! #transit #boston #mapoli #til

@somershade.bsky.social fwiw, not sure if this comes through on the mic, but they've left the chambers in the past few minutes & there is now shouting just outside chambers. I'm not sure if it's them or other stuff going on, obviously, but the vibe in council tonight is tense in general, even […]

@somershade.bsky.social Having talked with one of them a bit, and having checked citizen serve, sounds like there are some permits in progress for ADU and new construction at these 2 sites, and some of the neighbors at Warwick weren't aware.

@joanliu.bsky.social are you ... taking the party bus? What is happening here? 🥳

this is why I keep saying that enfranchising DC and other territories if they want it is the way to go if Ds are going to offset the problem with white rural power in the senate (and in electoral college, and even in House to some degree.)

The two viewing options, in case it's not clear, depend on whether you want to have better audio (usually the zoom) and see the agenda items more easily (definitely the zoom) or if you want to see things happening in the room (much better on the GovTV, sometimes nonexistent on the Zoom).
