My heart goes out to all those in the beautiful state of California who have been affected by the fires. May you, your loved ones, and fur babies find safety and comfort in this tragic time.

Then, I feel sad and existential doom for a day or two (current situation) until the bustle of life succeeds at adequately distracting me. The small things are what I look forward to the most right now; time spent with good people and the occasional fun activity keep me going.

There are still moments where the scope of everything to come creeps up on me...where I'm fine and walk into a different room, and it hits me all at once.

they failed to research for/educate themselves, and their wilful blindness/ignorance will manifest a completely different reality than the one they thought they would get, and they will feel it the most out of all of us.

While I preemptively mourn the loss of rights/ways of life for many, the cold-hearted realist part of me refuses sympathy/pity for those who voted for this outcome regardless of how informed they were/weren't;

Although I am not happy about what is about to happen with the country, I knew what the cost would be well-before November began, and have had time to prepare for the promised "hardship" we'll begin to experience in the coming months/years.

I've reached the point of acceptance wherein I've come to terms with the things that are about to happen. I have pride in once again being on the right side of history and standing up for not only the sanctity of my rights, but the rights of others.
