Schmitter, C.V., Pazen, M., Uhlmann, U., van Kemenade, B.M., Kircher, T., & Straube, B. (accepted). Predictive neural processing of self-generated hand and tool actions in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and healthy individuals. Translational Psychiatry Abstract: Schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) have been linked to dysfunctions in the predictive neural suppression of sensory input elicited by one’s own actions. Such motor predictions become particularly challenging during tool use and when feedback from multiple sensory modalities is present.

Our project on sensory attenuation is featured in the uni magazine @unimarburg.bsky.social 🗞️

A very nice summary of our work!
Featuring a pic of the project's muscle: The Marburg HPC "MarC3", who did the heavy lifting in optimizing & inverting the models. 🤖💪

The press release on the uni website has developed into 3 radio interviews!? 📻😅

I would have never expected that much public interest in this (super technical) project. Can recommend to work with uni press departments, really opened some cool windows for sci comm 📣
