The theater near me is nearly sold out for Friday showings. I’m afraid of what that means.

Very plausible. I could see a few of the doctors adopting the new tech and then being in conflict when it all becomes unusable

I just mean that the Ares character was supposed to be a chatbot personified. Previous iterations were just intelligent computers

I also didn’t like the AI angle, we get enough of that marketing in our daily lives.

Yep, I used to look for a cortado on the menu as an indicator of quality coffee, now Starbucks serves something called that 😅

At least five FUBARed Waymo robots:

Market & Guerrero, SF

One is a problem, two a mistake, five a major ops screw up. Waymo has never fixed their cascading failure problem. Maybe they don't know how.

Fundamentally unfit for service at scale until they do, IMO.

Draw a line straight from John Forester to the proliferation of e-motos

That’s a good idea. They should add something to the app that indicates I want them to go slow

I hate taking uber for this reason. I'm not trying to get to my destination as fast as possible, I'm just trying to survive getting there

I saw something about changing demographics in my city? Seemed like a way to generate heated discussion so I scrolled away quickly

It’s even worse when they don’t come out to the curb unless they see a car in the pickup space so you end up waiting forever

Yeah but what if one day there are aliens that are allergic to water? Then all those half-empty glasses sitting around could come in handy

Yep, even smaller towns here on the West Coast closed streets and had outdoor patios for a short time before taking them all down. We had walkable downtowns for a brief period

Been looking forward to these improvements since I moved here a few years ago. Hope this meeting moves it forward!

This makes me think of Vanmoof, where you had proprietary components that could only be serviced by that company. We all know how that worked out

Ah no you see, they also revealed an ebike, in addition to Also revealing an ebike
October 22, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Ah, I didn't consider that SB79 would mean we'd have to fight harder for bus stops now too
October 22, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Fair enough. I just think it’s getting large enough that they should march in the street rather than having people try to drive through it all
October 18, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Ask anyone trying to drive through downtown today whether it was busy or not
October 18, 2025 at 11:05 PM
How long before that guy starts asking for a cut of your profits
October 15, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Hmm that's a new one I haven't seen, that (ULTRA) high density housing is being torn down across the country? But I thought it was also being FORCED DOWN OUR THROATS
