It's frustrating to watch everybody cry about why health care costs so much in the US the outcomes are so mediocre. But no other countries have this many people who benefit so much, economically and financially, from the way the health care system currently works.

9 out of 10 the incentive structure wins over individual good will (or even decency). Just like everyone in the health care systems talks about patient outcomes, but the incentives simply just don't align.

Lol, the only losers of the block culture is the engagement/clout chasers. But they don't want to talk about that. They talk about "productive discourse." Just like NIMBYs don't talk about their property value. They talk about neighborhood characters, the environment, noise, birds or whatever.

Most of them are white, middle-class (or slightly more or less than middle-class), slightly more educated than the median. Their main motives are economic, but they don't want to put in the efforts or the hours. They just want a shortcut to vault to the upper class, but they're not lucky enough.
