there are so many factors that go into it but in my personal opinion the hidden costs to opting for cheaper, unhealthier foods will end up being more expensive. i do agree that healthy foods should be more accessible than they are but it is very possible to find cheap & healthy alternatives

i agree that it’s case by case though 94% of americans do not live in food deserts. when you measure the cost of food by calories, then yes it’s more expensive (via the video) but in terms of nutrition and edible weight/avg portion size it’s not as expensive as people think

i don’t doubt that! i buy groceries for my family (6 adults 1 teen) and it’s always been cheaper in the long run to buy produce/grains/milk/eggs etc than fast food, takeout, or the warmup options at the store.
