You're right. I agree with you. My family exchange cards on the 25th. But people 🤷🏻‍♀️ - not everyone thinks that way.

Yes - I've just started reading a book set in contemporary Lincolnshire. Lead character is Persephone*, her son is Ptolemy* and her father is John Smith*. (*Names have been changed). For me they just don't work as a convincing family - it's not authentic!
