Okay, I did it. I supported my local NPR and PBS stations. Easy. And I'm of a modest income, so it's proportional. The best bonus ever is getting access to the FULL LIBRARY of the PBS streaming app on my TV. Years and years of content.

I’m very sad to find out Bill Moyers has died. His work touched my life deeply over the decades. From his universe-framing interviews with Joseph Campbell to his, um, universe-framing interviews with Neil DeGrasse Tyson. This one hits me.

NSIDC has disclaimer at top of their page. The DOD is "reducing the priority" of providing data on shrinking ice. Now looking to Japanese to help fill in the new data gaps. US gov can no longer be depended upon for measuring the developing effects of global warming.

Over the decades, this is the indicator I look for when a protest movement reaches mainstream popular support -- when the baby strollers show up.

The news reports of over 2000 demos and MILLIONS of participants on Saturday. (www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...)

So it looks like the Sedona march for tomorrow has been merged into the Cottonwood one. Larger crowd size.

Two articles, side by side. The HOPE I hold in my heart is this anti-science-pro-conspiracy-theory era in government lasts only for these four years and then we can rebuild the integrity and smarts of these institutions.

1/2 Because it is happening more and more from my own side I have to throw down the gauntlet. If you post a screenshot or meme about current events or social issues and you don't include a real link to the source, I'm just going to consider it fake and move on. Sorry, that's where we are now.

Damn the man. Damn his stunted boy-soul. Damn his father. And damn the smallness of those who fell under the spell of infantile regression — thumb sucking and stabbing in the dark at their imagined fears. We are all a lesser people for it.

It's difficult to contain the angry feelings about this. I rewrote this three times. Lucky you. How can I not judge my neighbors in our nation? How does this not change my relationship with them -- everywhere and in every situation -- from now on?
