They’re “crying poor” because they have been chronically underfunded for decades. They’ve scraped by, deferring maintenance and getting piecemeal allocation to keep running, but this can’t continue. Transit, statewide as this is not just one agency, needs a meaningful, dependable funding source.

The disruption this will cause cannot be overstated. This is a disaster in the making, and the state senate needs to get its collective act together.
