While the PDF version is $0, there's an option of getting an attractive softcover print version of the Quickstart. Here's a few pics of a copy that arrived recently.

If you are in Oz, the printed copies are produced locally (Lightning Source recently opened a printer here), which seems very quick.

I'd like to mention that #83 on this list "Insumneeyah" is a Cthulhu Eternal scenario set in Modern Era and HPL's Dreamlands (I played in it too!). The creator, Paul StJohn Mackintosh has since published it as an awesome PDF. Good for a bit of VR Zoog bashing.

No, thank YOU for checking out the pubs of a small indie press. We strive to commission great writers, curate the kinds of Lovecraftian games we would like to play ourselves, and bundle it up in eye-catching books ... but ultimately we don't have much advertising budget, so rely on word of mouth.

In answer to multiple questions we've received -- no, our core game book for Convicts & Cthulhu (pictured) isn't being crowdfunded via Kickstarter or Backerkit or similar.

The Oct 31 date is an old-school release, with the book being available for purchase on that date to ship shortly thereafter.

We were planning on releasing this at the same time as the big launch of the C&C Core Book (October 31), but enough folks seem to want to grab it now for their face-to-face gaming needs, so who are we to say no.

Obviously purchases of the print book also come with the free PDF version.

Our current plan is to release the full Convicts & Cthulhu core Rulebook on October 31. It is a 312-page book, and will be available as a hardcover print title for those that like physical books. It is approximately 3x the size of our earlier C&C setting book, expanded in literally every aspect.

The Convicts & Cthulhu RPG is powered by the rules from the Cthulhu Eternal "Age of Revolutions" SRD, which is a 100-page feature-complete ruleset for Lovecraftian gaming anywhere, in the time period approximately 1750-1850. It is a Pay-What-You-Want PDF.

One side-effect of us rebooting the Convicts & Cthulhu line is that the old 2016 sourebook (which contains statistics for the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition RPG) will be removed from sale. If you want to grab it -- in print or PDF -- you'll have until October 31.

I dunno ... that also sounds like the same internal monologue that plays on repeat in the heads of internationally-famous-and-accomplished-writers, so maybe writing is one of those rare professions where almost everybody thinks they can't do it 😀

When we re-boot our Convicts & Cthulhu product line (first released in 2016 as a setting for Call of Cthulhu 7e), it'll be a standalone game using the Cthulhu Eternal rules. When it's out, we'll be retiring the CoC version ... so if you've been thinking about getting a print copy, maybe do it soon.

It's been quite a while since we released any new products for Cthulhu Eternal ... mostly because there have been a few very BIG things we've been working on. The first output of those creative endeavours should drop soon ... the below is a bit of a teaser about what we will be unleashing.

Don't thank us ... thank the incomparable Penelope Love for writing such a great Dreamlands scenario in the first place. We spotted it as a diamond among the free scenarios shared online in the late 1990s (thank you, "Chaosium Digest" email list) and gave it the graphic treatment it deserves.

Huh, I'm surprised there's no "FINAL", "ACTUALLY FINAL", "WILL THIS THING EVER DIE", or "PLEASE ZARDOS MAKE IT STOP" ... I thought they were the ISO standard naming conventions for writers and WIPs. 🧐

The really good stuff is the scenarios I’ve written for Cthulhu Eternal - I stopped producing material for Call of Cthulhu in 2020 for a string of reasons so the newer and better material is all with @cthulhureborn.bsky.social

If you're a Lovecraftian TTRPG aficionado (for any game system), you should really check out Shoggoth.net's awesome Octobernomicon event (which has run for years). Fan-contributed Mythos creations every day. A great way to give or get some new horrors.

Caveat emptor, as they say. It does feel a bit odd, though, that the ersatz experience costs $$ but the genuine experience costs nothing except the time you spend at table/VTT with friends. The idea that any experience in life can "accelerated" by throwing cash at the problem seems a 21st C notion.

Nobody IMHO should be policing anyone else's fun, but equally nobody should be scamming anyone by saying that a gaming experience is something that it isn't. It would be bad if people thought they couldn't call out things they think might be questionable ...
