Good point. Since he did just kick off the Noir City festival tour, I'm sure he's busy, although they tape his intros weeks if not months in advance.

Yep, same here- I’ve seen about 95% of the Oscar films so I end up watching less TCM than usual.

I did hear that and thought it would come into play somehow, with Barnie having to deal with a domestic crisis along with everything else. But it turned out to be just a throwaway line, so I think you’re right.
