Depends how you structure the contract. All I know is the NFL players union is a joke and present system rewards owners/teams that suck often at the expense of good players. Granted all this stuff is complicated and unions, like any group of people, can be immovable even on beneficial issues

The change would give players far more agency given that the average NFL career is 3 seasons. Meaning, the peak of their career is spent with some organization that couldn't care less about them and vice versa. MLS moved away from it in future years. A better future is possible
