Great choice.... "Red Clay" always, always... even though #RonCarter had to tell him to put his bass drum back in his car...

Trying to tidy up my CD collection, went to list on @discogsofficial.bsky.social four volumes of this collection, only to find it's banned from sale.

Jumped other to ebay, of course there are copies for sale in the USA.

Elegant but weird Zenith mid-century modern turntable and speakers on a cart. Currently for sale in Denver Colorado

Sunday. Little known Creed Taylor production, doesn't carry a credit. Shavers playing that late 50's melancholy trumpet. Imagine sitting in Charlies, mostly empty, a few drinkers, some smoke. Guys with PTSD staring at the bottom of a glass...

Those were not the days, but produced some great music

This is #2/50 original 1968 Pete Turner "Giraffe" large scale prints from Jan. 1968 - It was owned by Creed Taylor. It's the cover picture from the 1967 Anton Carlos Jobim album "Wave".

What's is worth? Dunno but I couldn't come up with a big enough number for the seller to sell it to me.

The Internet Archive has its detractors, they continue to work on some awesome projects. They've built Ruffle, an Adobe Flash player. That allowed me to open the now-long gone David Horrowitz website and convert some of his showreels to mp4 files from flash

Can you hear the sound on this 2006?

Nearly finished my wrap-up on Jack DeJohnette, which includes a piano gig at Lake Meadows Lounge and Restaurant through News Years eve. Champagne dinner for NYE was $11.50 per couple - at the same time, you could see John Coltrane at McKies with free chicken on Mondays

Also we have the same West Elm shelving for my albums and hifi equipment! Great choice!

I'm bed bound after surgery wednesday, spending the time listening to almost the entire Bethlehem recordings from 1954-5. A lot of it isn't jazz, but it is simply a great time peace. Shavers playing is great, it's like any minute James Stewart will walk in.

Have you been to at least one live jazz event this month?

Supporting live jazz is more important than ever. Please do your part!

For us, we saw John Scofield in #boulderco

Or there was Disneyland NYE for $10 with Lou Rawls

Start looking for options for NYE this year, back on Dec. 31st, 1971 you could have gone to a dinner/dance at Shelly Manne's for $14.50 per couple

In todays money that would be nearly $110. I dare anyone to find a top-flight jazz artists just tickets NYE for that per person, much less per couple

In the music business as much and probably more than any other, it's who you know from sidemen to engineers, club owners to booking agents.

If you don't know people, this shows the importance of getting a manager who knows people. Lots of great musicians go their whole careers without a nomination.

Denver and suburbs folks... general admission tickets for #denverjazzfest are available. Bob James is playing April 9th - we are in, join us!

It's been 18-years since I first saw deadmau5 live in Austin TX during SXSW 2007. He's playing Red Rocks in Colorado for 2-nights, we can't go.

I get a lot of people don't like electronic dance music, every generation needs to "find their own voice".

Morning all. Today is a big day in my house for vinyl. After a 15-year search I've finally acquired a VG+ copy of all of Creed Taylor's East Coast Jazz series - originally I'd hoped to get them all in the vinyl 10" format - but I gave up on that about 6-years ago. This was my first not my last.

Arguably Creed Taylor's only classical music album. Forget Sebesky's "Giant Box".

Recorded February 25, 1966 at Van Gelder's studio, just as Creed started negotiations to launch CTI as a imprint of MGM, Verve, or possibly another label...
