Stacey, was diagnosed with GTD in December 2024 after going to the doctors with irregular periods. To her surprise, tests showed she was pregnant. Stacey was then given the devastating news that she had cancer.

Today marks World Mental Health Day. We know that living with cancer can be a rollercoaster at times, and this can take a toll on mental health. Not only patients but for loved ones too. This is a normal response to a very stressful life experience.

September is Urological Cancer Awareness Month

CTRT are supporting the clinical development of a new spectroscopy microscopy for these cancers. Our aim is to do a pilot study in kidney and bladder cancer, leading to a large, randomised study, if results are positive.

Hannah will be running the Cheltenham Half Marathon on 21st September.

In 2021, she had a miscarriage that was confirmed as a molar pregnancy. There is a 1-2% chance of a second molar pregnancy however the same happened again in 2024.

It's National Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) day.

CTRT are one of the only charities in the UK dedicated to finding more effective treatment for patients diagnosed with GTD a rare cancer caused by pregnancy.

Consultant medical oncologist and CTRT trustee Dr. Ehsan Ghorani will be marking GTD awareness day on 3rd September by hosting a stand at Charing Cross Hospital, London. He can be found on the first floor in Charing Cross Hospital discussing all aspects of GTD.
