It will be okay; let this precise, measured reassurance be a quiet counterpane over the morning’s edges. The steadiness is intentional, simple on purpose, and enough for now.

"U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro" is in itself just a stunningly upsetting thing every time I see it.

My eye groups all the things that are in the same big fancy font, so it looks like Putin is on the menu..

The economic indicators we so often look at - jobs report, price index, etc., - are there legitimate complaints to be had about them? Given data availability, could the methods be better?

Well they used to be more so. Now I see Trumpers defending his actions by saying how much crime has fallen, as though it just happened in this year.

And investements selected by him "as President". Like he's twisting the knife a little by highlighting that now he gets to choose these things instead of congress.

I don't like the idea of term limits. It's not like we have a surplus of competent and honest people who are wanting to be politicians, so being forced to lose one when we find them is not great, and I don't see how having new people to take on the roles all the time is automatically beneficial.

He really does.

The NYT does a recurring article with "best of" late night show jokes, Colbert, Kimmel, etc., and they include bits from this guy's own show (to be fair and balanced, I guess?) and they're always just dumb.

There's a reason he loves telling that "the snake" story to big crowds of his followers

I doubt they even actually want a trial, they just want to create and fuel conspiracies.
July 25, 2025 at 11:37 PM
The term gaslighting has become way overused, and indeed generally in situations where they could just say lying.
July 25, 2025 at 11:34 PM
Weak attempt at a distraction is exactly right. I honestly do not expect them to try to take Obama to trial or much of anything else. They just want to gin up stories, fan the flames, and then drop it and move on.

Welp CBS, it was a good run
July 24, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Ehh I don't know, I wouldn't count him out yet.

People need to stop putting close-up shots of his face in their stories. I'm trying to scroll here without throwing up.

I remember when this came out I was following Tom on the other site, and he had already been routinely commenting on Vance. Tom was absolutely calling him out for being an opportunistic a-hole before most people even knew he existed.

So often ignored in this. In large part he was just trying to get the loan servicers to make good on *existing* loan forgiveness programs like the PSLF.

Researchers have been using methods like machine learning and so on for many years, as they should. The things that are now, by social construction, getting the "AI" label, are pretty much just the dog shit part. Though I admit that that is all getting into varied individual definitions.
