Coffee options at the o2 are very limited, as apart from the chains there are two and we’ve been to the other one already so as this place is central and wasn’t in any way busy it was a simple choice. I had a decaf croissant and a NY cacao croissant, £4.85 which felt ridiculous for such an area of the city, coffee must have been a reasonable price as I didn’t note it down.

I have been meaning to go to Brighton for a while as my niece moved there and finally got it arranged recently, although back end of autumn it was a lovely sunny day and even felt a little warm. We went to one of her favourite coffee establishments and I had a cappuccino and a fancy almond croissant. The coffee was very nice, not the biggest but I took my time so as not to rush through it - lots to talk about and there was a large pastry to be dealt with.

Tucked away at the back of the Eltham Centre is a nice cafe, I only went in to find the toilets and found a leisure centre and the cafe, I only expected a library! It was a solo trip so I just looked at the cakes and pastries, but they do hot food too so Kerry would have approved. After a lot of umming and ahhing I opted for a rolo cookie and a decaf cappuccino.

This was a solo trip to the Tate Modern and then across the Millenium Bridge to St Pauls, I had seen a nice looking place for coffee online but could not find it, so after giving up looking I just searched for 'coffee' and this came up as a close by option so that was the decision made. It is down a side street near the church and looks quite fancy from the outside.

I stumbled over this little gem whilst wandering to Fortnum and Mason, I know that establishment has coffee available but I was on my own and not feeling brave enough. I had a decaf cappuccino and a crodough which came to £8.50 - not cheap but okay for a one off, I do begrudge paying Starbucks' prices for a blended middle of the road roast but will happily pay more for a smaller, but cared over, drink.

Following our trip to the farm (previous post) we took a short ride to Canary Wharf to explore and have more coffee. The area has changed a bit since we last visited but it still oppressive and a bit meh, but we did find a rather splendid place to have a drink. Kerry had an Americano and a slice of strawberry and soft cream cake, I had a decaf cappuccino and a slice of chocolate mousse cake.

I have visited the farm a few times, usually early Sunday mornings just to say hello to the animals, but never at a time when any other part of it was open. Kerry always wanted to go and recently we actually sorted out a visit. The menu wasn’t huge but just enough for us, luckily I wasn’t after cake and there was only 1 available and it was walnut which seemed an odd choice with nothing else there.

Whilst in town on my own I went to a favourite area and one of the aims whilst there was to find new coffee, there are a few places around there we are still to try but this looked the most inviting at the time. I was drawn in by the food on display and after some perusal opted for lemon drizzle cake and a decaf cappuccino.

I nipped over to Lille for a few days to see the start of the Tour de France and had to find a new coffee spot, having visited a few years back with Kerry the famous places (Meert - amazing) had been covered but it was not that hard to find a new purveyor of the brown stuff. I found this place by just putting 'coffee' into goggle maps after doing a lap of the citadel and it was the closest, pretty much between the centre and the citadel/park/zoo so a good location.

The final day of riding ended in the lovely coastal town of Sete, after checking in to the hotel we were in need of coffee so set off to explore. Within minutes we found one I had researched but it didn't have seating so we carried on and struck very lucky indeed. Just a brief glance in the window had us decided on staying there for a while.

After a nice steep ride from the river to the city centre we were ready for a break and as it was also a little before to check-in time at the hotel we thought coffee would be a splendid idea. In the centre on Bezier is a wide pedenstrianised zone (reminded us of La Ramblas in Barcelona but much cleaner) and as we rode along we spotted this place and after seeing the cakes and a slightly hidden coffee machine we were sold.

Cycling holiday this year was south west corner of France and we knew from previous holidays that coffee can be a difficult thing to locate, combination of places not having a coffee shop (or even a bar tabac) or arriving at the wrong time and them being closed. We rode the Canal du Midi and when we saw a sign saying "Coffee 1.5km" we turned and followed the path to a place called Bram.

This was a solo coffee whilst out on my bike, I've ridden through the park many times but always before the cafe is open, today I went past more in hope than expectation but got lucky. I had a decaf flat white and a flapjack, I like the look of the ultra fresh cookies but when I saw the label I changed my mind as I didn't know what tahini was (I thought it it was some kind of spice but have since educated myself and it sounds okay for the future).

Feeling fancy so went to Mayfair and stumbled across this place and as soon as the words "full English" were spotted there was no need to look any further. The full English was for Kerry, along with a flat white. I'd had my breakfast many hours prior so went for a decaf cappuccino and a brownie - the cake options were a little limited so opted so went for the best of the few available.

This used to be ArtFix but there was (allegedly) some kind of dispute with the landlord and they left. It wasn't empty long before Mama2Mama took over. It has hardly changed at all, there are fewer tables and the outside area was closed - maybe just a seasonal thing as it was rather chilly when we visited. Kerry had a flat white and a slice of chocolate marble cake whilst I had a cappuccino and blondie.

We haven’t been to the zoo for a while and as it was dry we thought we should, under the proviso that we find somewhere new on the way to get coffee and food. To get to the zoo we had to go to Camden which is probably the worst part of London we’ve been to (so far) but between the tube station and the zoo we found this place.
