This! A friend who ran a haircare line told me the same. Shampoo cleans effectively in one wash; repeat only if the first doesn’t lather well. Low lather usually means oils or product residue are using up the surfactants, leaving less to foam. The “wash twice” advice is mostly a sales booster.

Agree. We live part-time in France on what was the Vichy border, the events from then have left long shadows. A WWII collaborator’s family home nearby still won’t sell after years on the market. The locals all know what they did, their great grandchildren still carry the burden, 80 years on.

A while back, NZ blew millions on a flag vote nobody asked for. Public submissions, mostly rubbish. We got a boring shortlist and… kept the old flag. The people’s champ never made the ballot. Not just a flag! A poke in the govt’s eye for the daft idea. A national personality test. And we failed it.

Written in crayon I assume…

Maybe he already croaked. A while ago. And Musk slapped a neuralink thingy in the void where his brain used to be. Would explain a lot.

No criticism intended at all to you, I get that there are few options available for average people to stop them. But to the rest of the world, who can literally do nothing to mitigate your crazy leadership, “collectively marching for peace” isn’t going to cut it. They’re dragging us all into a war

Don’t understand how the world’s biggest economy fails to provide universal healthcare for its people. Honest question, it’s mystifying.

I’m 166cm, size 12, 58kg. Always been on the slimmer side of size 12. So anything up to 65kg would still be a NZ 12 I reckon.

Definitely not! We travel to Europe yearly, via the US. Not any more. And we’ve dumped a heap of US online products. Hell, I won’t even buy US oranges at Woolworths …

Next up, a National ID card! Because nothing says freedom like a mandatory govt-issued barcode. Ditch the pesky birth cert & enjoy seamless digital tracking, bundled with Elon’s totally-not-creepy payment portal. A little surveillance-y, but voting (the ‘right’ kind of vote that is) is sooo easy...

And bulk buying also works against the very people who need those savings the most, as only folks with spare cash can afford to do it.

Except it’s a globally toxic brand now, EU citizens won’t buy Tesla.

I think you’re right. We held the US in such high regard, leaders of the free world, a nation built on laws, aspirational. That admiration made it easy to gloss over flaws that allowed Trump to rise. Now those flaws are exposed, we look inward & face our own cracks before they grow as deep as yours

Yes! Add in the $800b or so of exported services and see how those trade “deficits” look…

In NZ we pay a max of $5 per prescription for funded meds, eg from that list I just picked one, atorvastatin, it’s fully funded. Most of them are, or an alternative offered. Kids under 14 all scripts are free. Max annual cap of 20 scripts per family, after that no charge.

USA, Why do you tolerate this?

What is the reason they planned the visit? They already knew they wouldn’t be welcome. Are they crazy enough to start a war over some imagined social slight ?

Oh God, it’s heartbreaking that you have to even contemplate any of this.
March 22, 2025 at 10:37 PM
I should add that we love the US, have spent many happy times there and have wonderful friends. The destruction of your way of life is truly heartbreaking.

Kiwi here. From our perspective, being disappeared isn’t exactly a vacation perk. We travel to Europe via the US most years, but not any more. Same reasons we’d avoid transiting Russia. We’re not easily rattled, but we can see what the US is now. It’s Asia or Canada for us from now on.

Is it possible that no Teslas are being sold right now, anywhere? Are the sales figures manipulated, not just for rebate purposes, but to spare Musk’s blushes? I’d love to hear from a Tesla whistleblower.

He’s going to impose martial law no matter what you do. March now. When that becomes impossible, subvert, grind things to a halt with small actions, resist!!

The respect of the rational world is already gone. You’re left with craven despots, oligarchs and that Bond villain guy in Bosnia.

I’m so happy to hear this. My beautiful sister died from pancreatic cancer. Was so appallingly bad that I vowed suicide if I ever received that diagnosis

I’ve wondered if Tesla will become the “people’s car” of the US, like the Lada of the Soviet Union. You’ll be coaxing your Teslada along, duct tape in one hand, error messages flashing, while the ROW drives cars that don’t rely on a madman’s whim to unlock the door.
