The waves in the clouds are bigger than the waves in the sea! 😲

These "Undulatus" clouds happen when the air above and below the cloud layer move at different speeds.

These clouds were caused after that potent cold front that brought all that wind before New Years' Eve (12/30)!

🎼Oh there's no place like... Hiemal for the Holidays!🎼

Hiemal is a real word, look it up, and it describes NJ's weather through the holidays perfectly. 🥶 https://cupajoe.live/jersey-shore-colder-warmer-weather/

🥶Brutally cold air in Alaska and the Yukon (even for them) continues to dive into the Northeast. Typically, this would go into the Rockies but a ridge of high pressure has blocked that since Thanksgiving.

That's why it's been 5F COLDER than average at the Jersey Shore.

Here's why I think it belongs so high! Watch the full episode at https://cupajoe.live/top-10-weather-events-2025-nj-december-review/!

😍 Another day, another fresh coating of snow.

If 0.1"+ of snow is reported at Long Branch or ACY Airport, we start off the New Year with 2 consecutive days of measurable snow. The last time that happened was...1962!
