Apologies for all those photos ... didn't realize that Substack was uploading a gazillion instead of one. Yikes!

Ah. This feels really, really good to read. Out of the blue tonight, on this last night of Hanukkah, friends who have passed came to mind. I heard them. And I missed taking a photo of the light within all of us present and passed, while I was preparing dinner.

I prefer to recognize the specifics: The SCOTUS 6.

Walking home from the pier this morning, a frisky, shy, tall poodle pup of a dog stopped short on seeing Teddy. Of course, inevitably, tails wagged, and she was just about to come closer for a treat when she leapt back because of a leaf falling, falling, floated to the ground.

Thank you! One question: Is the pie in the photo the one being illustrated in the recipe? Ask bec it is flat, and the recipe calls for mounding apples high. Most curious about tasting the pie with bitters!

Your post awakened a flood of memories his early Saturday morning. As the sky lightens and the chill beckons, I opened this long-closed (but treasured) volume whose weight feels good in my hand. Even the paper is swell.

Zuni Cafe! I still remember my very first breakfast there. The light through the windows. The caffe latte in a bowl. Those scones you now write about. What year ... hmmm... before the '89 earthquake. Whenever. Being at the Zuni was the best of times. I still roast chicken in the Judy Rodgers' way.
