A really unusual and lovely misericord chair…perhaps made up from bits of traditional medieval misericord seats 🤩

Stamford, Lincolnshire, is full of excellent historic buildings - but it also has this fabulous Norman arch and enticing cobbled passageway 😍

The very colourful rood screen at the Church of All Saints in Earls Barton, Northamptonshire, has some unusual decoration…it was re-painted in 1935 by Henry Bird, who happened to be a lepidopterist and incorporated hundreds of butterflies into his design!

Seriously impressive early C17 monument to the Deyers, in St. Andrew’s Church, Great Staughton, Cambs.
The whole thing is incredible, but one of my favourite things about it is the gauntlets looming creepily…especially given that they’ve all lost their hands at some point! 😱😂

A rare 19th century ‘bier house’, opposite St. Mary’s Church in Keysoe, Bedfordshire…this is where the bier, which was a wheeled contraption for moving coffins from parishioners houses to the church, was kept!

It’s not an exterior elevation (but it’s a ruin now, so guess it has become an exterior feature! 😂)…it goes into the tower 😊

A fantastic little door - and doorway - in the ruins of the largely 13th century Church of Holy Trinity (also known as St. Nicholas) in the grounds of Ettington Park Hotel, Warwickshire 😍

The golden hues of early autumn ❤️…with the added bonus of a quick game of ‘spot the ladybirds’ 🤩
