There's a certain kind of older Xer/Aging Boomer that is absolutely terrified when EVERYTHING isn't directly marketed for their suburban white male sensibilities. They are offended that things are made for different or younger people's viewpoints and experience. They will die, RPGs wont, Fuck'em.

I'm happy that DnD is continuing to change and grow to meet the sensibilities of the kids, my generation invented Vampire/WoD/Art RPG's because we where sick of Tolkien-esque RPGs. I don't expect Mork Borg/DCCRpg to be 'mainstream' DnD, they are better because of their focus on making a niche happy.

I'm not a huge fan of the modern DnD approach, not because of inclusion or any of that, but because of the assumed powerlevel and the introduction of anime/video game elements to appeal to younger fans. NBD I can get all my heavy metal, sword & sandal, r-rated grindhouse DnD needs met elsewhere.

I'm the exact same age as the Stranger Things kids, what they are complaining about is the modern sensibilities of younger fans changing the way the game is marketed by WOTC. To which I say, that's what the point of the OSR is - to keep a hobbyist product that is more niche and less mainstream.

It's strongly implied in TOS that there is Starfleet which is the united space service for all Federation worlds combined, and then individual worlds still have their own defensive fleets, scientific, commercial and eploratory services, SF is basically a United Nations organization.

We see dedicated ground troops in the episode where Jake Sisko works as a triage nurse with Bashir (S05E04).
I would imagine that MACO's are probably just absorbed into SF as a Marine force. Defensive forces are probably local world with SFMarines used to bolster them and assault enemy worlds.

I just want a TOS Constitution Class, a D-7, a Defiant, a Saladin/Hermis Class Destroyer/Scout, A Deridex class Romulan Warbird, a scale DS9, Cardassian warship, Jem'hadar fighter, Dominion cruiser, oh and uhh maybe a Doomsday machine with damaged USS Constellation...this is the problem...

Only the current moribund Democratic leadership would offer people a historically unpopular candidate, with milquetoast, weak band-aids that most people couldn't discern as actually affecting them, and say "it's the voters fault."
