He/him. Husband, father, citizen. Mostly messing around here. Not loving the Era of Artificial Reality despite enjoying escapist activities. There’s a difference.
See now you’re just making me sad again that we got Bush who pretended to care about climate change, until taking action got a little real, and he tossed aside Christine Todd Whitman’s plans after she’d believed him.

I am surprised he didn’t just go for Trumpublican but he’s working from T being his identifying logo for years.

Anyway I’m also imagining a fairy tale years from now with a conman imp named Trumplestiltskin.

I finally found something the administration is doing right.

At the end of the day they’re just people who don’t want to feel bad about using fossil fuels, and people afraid of needles.

Quick everyone! Start a right wing podcast and maybe you can be the next director of the FBI!

Maybe one of these days a critical mass of Americans will realize they aren’t temporarily embarrassed billionaires and vote accordingly.

All due to advertising.

I dispute the analogy of a slot machine, although there’s an element of randomness as to which accounts will catch on, it’s not much different than having lots of job applicants. The market will reward someone, always.

The system was designed that way. Engagement = cash for platform and account.

Is it Trump brand spray tan with extra cinnamon flavor?
November 24, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Bessent just discovered that places where people make more money allow for higher prices in the market?

Cool, good job bro.

If only GSWs were as imaginary as money, we could tell each other different stories about them and delay the effect as long as other people kept believing the new stories.

Someone probably printed out his -24 or whatever approval rating and Miller added a little line up and down to make it a plus.

Republicans lost their family values. JD Vance is thoroughly searching the couch for them.

Maybe Jensen shouldn’t be hanging around with Trump so much

You had me at expanding the House.

The Gullible Fascist would be a good book title.

This rhymes with Grant Morrison’s New 52 2011 reboot of Superman a bit. I wonder if they read the book beforehand.

The novel sounds great, and timely….

These guys continuing the grand tradition of criminals often being incredibly stupid.

The great Calvin Trillin, thanks!

Offsets for flying are fairy dust and complete BS. There’s no way to scale “sustainable” fuel up or at least not any time soon. Probably never when we get down to it.

Putting tiny bandaids on a jugular wound at best.

How to square that? The dissonance is hard to avoid if you are realistic.

The smarter you are, the more opportunities you have to accumulate wealth in general. Many industries that offer those opportunities have little interest in mitigating emissions and trying to do so will often result in restrictions on growth overall. Ex: flying is not possible.

I also think that we don’t consider as we should the foundational effect that your youth has on the rest of your life and also how a massive world war destroying vast amounts of infrastructure informed people’s thoughts about what to focus on back in that time.

For one thing I’d say that in 1972, the concept of finance being a laudable area to be in wasn’t really there. It took us getting to the 80s to really make wealth accumulation be seen again as morally good and defensible.

The right had to take it on as a project.
